KOCH MEDIA ANZ TURNS 3

Koch Media Pty Ltd this week celebrates their 3rd anniversary since joining the Koch Media family. On February 13, 2019, Koch Media acquired leading Australian publishing partner 18point2. Since then, the Australian and New Zealand business has seen huge commercial success for owned and partner titles in the territory.

To celebrate their 3rd birthday, Koch Media will be giving away prizes throughout the week, starting with a Dying Light 2 Collector’s Edition for PlayStation 5 today. The competition is open now, and fans are invited to visit the Koch Media ANZ Twitter channel to find out how to enter.

Over the last three years, the Sydney based team have launched over 180 titles, sent over 400 press releases in 2021 alone and sold over 2.5 million units to consumers across the territory. Since 2019, Koch Media ANZ have introduced the critically acclaimed karaoke franchise, Let’s Sing, into the market to great success, launched new IPs including Outward, Biomutant, Hot Wheels Unleashed™ and Back 4 Blood and reignited local gamers love for fan-favourite remakes Destroy All Humans! and SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated.

Led by Managing Director Roger Clarke, the Australia & New Zealand Koch Media team publishes products for a number of partners including Warner Bros. Games, THQ Nordic, Techland, Microids, Paradox Interactive as well as internal publishing labels Deep Silver, Ravenscourt, Prime Matter and Milestone. Koch Media offers a full suite of publishing services, with tailored solutions to meet each partner’s needs across Trade, Communications, Marketing and Distribution.

Earlier this year, in addition to ANZ responsibilities, the team were tasked with establishing an Asia Pacific hub, which sees the Tokyo and Hong Kong offices join the Sydney-based team in a new venture. Offering publishing services and territory insights to partners, the regional team of 30 talented and highly experienced people offers a streamlined and effective solution to the management of the complex Asia Pacific region.

Klemens Kundratitz, Managing Director of Koch Media Group remarked “We are very proud to have reached this milestone in Australia and New Zealand and of the success that the last three years have seen. In addition, I am delighted that Roger will be leading the Asia Pacific team as Koch Media continues to grow its presence in the region, building on the great work already carried out by the Hong Kong and Japan teams.”

“This incredibly exciting development offers extraordinary opportunities for both internal publishing labels, as well as current or new partners looking to simplify their approach to the region, without the loss of territory-specific knowledge and insights. The team brings deep capabilities and experience across areas such as the media landscape, consumer preferences and key marketing channels.” commented Roger Clarke, Managing Director Koch Media Asia Pacific. He went on to say, “With the region representing over 50% of global consumer spending in Games, and displaying the highest levels of industry growth, this increased regional focus offers partners the ability to tap into Asia Pacific consumers and to quickly grow their businesses.”

The coming year brings even more opportunities and exciting things to come. With an amazing lineup of owned and partner titles for the coming year and beyond, Koch Media in Sydney will be moving to a new, larger headquarters. The space will be purpose-built for events, with streaming and recording capabilities, and a collaborative floorplan for the recently expanded team while allowing for further growth.
