IEM Sydney Invited Teams Announced

Today ESL, part of the ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), is excited to announce the teams that are invited to compete at Intel® Extreme Masters (IEM) Sydney 2023 as well as the squads invited to the Closed Qualifiers.

On October 16 – 22, IEM is set to return down under for the fourth time, with the final three days of the competition taking place live at the sold-out Aware Super Theatre at ICC Sydney in Sydney, Australia.
Happening in connection with SXSW Sydney 2023, IEM Sydney 2023 will see 16 of the world’s best Counter-Strike teams from around the world battle it out for a share of the US$250,000 prize pool (over AU$380,000), a spot in the first ESL Pro Tour Championship event in 2024, and a win in the race to securing Intel® Grand Slam V.
The eleven teams directly invited to IEM Sydney 2023 are:

Local Hero Invite: GRAYHOUND.Rivalry

ESL WR Global: Monte
The remaining five slots will be decided via Closed Qualifiers taking place between August 22 – 25. The teams directly invited for these Closed Qualifiers are:

VERTEX ESC
These squads will be joined by the top teams from regional Open Qualifiers – four for Europe and two for the other regions – on August 9 – 10.
