Homegrown ‘block’buster THE LEGO MOVIE assembling for Sydney Premiere‏

Two memorable characters from THE LEGO® MOVIE — Emmet and Wyldstyle — are set to join animation co-director and co-editor Chris McKay at the film’s Sydney premiere on Sunday, March 23. Event Cinemas at Westfield Bondi Junction will host local VIPs, celebrities, and film industry heavyweights at the special red carpet event.

The LEGO Movie, produced at the Animal Logic studios in Sydney, has broken box office records around the world, taking in a staggering $210 million in the U.S. and $120 million internationally to date.

A Chicago native, McKay has worked as a successful producer, editor and writer on the award-winning Adult Swim shows Robot Chicken, Titan Maximum and Morel Orel. He has directed more than 40 episodes of Robot Chicken, one of the highest rated and critically acclaimed shows on Cartoon Network, with two Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Animated Program.

WHAT: Animation co-director Chris McKay will attend the Sydney premiere of The LEGO Movie, along with life-sized versions of Emmet and Wyldstyle.
