Gaming veteran Ben Britten to deliver insights on disruption in the games sector

Mighty Games co-founder to speak at Australia’s largest creative-tech summit, Creative3, on 22 September

Australia, 5 September 2016: A true veteran of the games industry, Ben Britten, has announced his attendance at Australia’s largest conference for creative entrepreneurs – Creative3 – where he will provide key insights on disruption in the video games industry.

With over 20 years’ experience in the film and games industries, Britten is well placed to deliver invaluable content, with subjects covered including:

  • How to make money from a free product, with games increasingly being given away for free
  • How a small gaming production company can compete with the billion-dollar industry giants
  • How to optimise technology to leverage the creative production process
  • How digital creatives are disrupting the way games are bought, made and sold

Prior to co-founding Mighty Games and creating the debut title, Shooty Skies (2015), that has already amassed over five-million downloads worldwide – Britten had already created a ballpark figure of about 50 individual titles; at least 10 being solo projects, and the rest during his tenure at Australian developer, Tin Man Games.

Britten also consults for various game companies around the globe, with his work in film across three dozen blockbuster titles seeing him win an Academy Award for technical achievement (for advancing the art of 3D volumetric camera control).

On his upcoming appearance at Creative3, Britten said: “I’m excited to attend this year’s Creative3 summit to represent the importance of supporting our games industry. The video games industry continues to outperform Hollywood globally, however, it can prove to be difficult to monetise our productions.

“It’s critical that we understand the disruption that’s facing our market so that we can continue to hone our business models around this and support those aspiring creative entrepreneurs looking to enter the space.”

Creative3 will take place at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Thursday September 22, 2016 from 9:30am – 8:30 pm. For more information on the Creative3 conference visit the website.
