GAME WORLDS EXHIBITION EXTENDED
Due to popular demand, ACMI’s major playable exhibition, Game Worlds, will be extended until 29 March 2026. Spanning 50 years of videogames history, with 30+ iconic titles and 44 opportunities to play games, the ACMI built and curated exhibition is the largest ever developed – and the museum’s most popular since 2018’s Wonderland.
ACMI will celebrate the extension with a summer program packed with live concerts, talks and free family weekends, new collectibles in ACMI Shop, plus 25% off flexible exhibition tickets until 28 November.
Presented by ACMI, Orchestra Victoria and Powerhouse Museum, Hollow Knight and Silksong Live will see the Australian-made games projected onto the ACMI Cinema screen, pairing live gameplay with live accompaniment by Orchestra Victoria. These special concert performances run for two nights only, 20 – 21 February.
Young builders and mini magicians can enjoy free themed activities, challenges and photo opportunities honouring featured titles from Game Worlds at a series of Family Weekends. Come together as a family and discover new worlds with Dungeons & Dragons on 7 – 8 February and Minecraft on 14 – 15 February, then add on a discounted family ticket to explore the exhibition.
Australian game developer, artist and philosopher Bennett Foddy chats new game Baby Steps, in an exclusive In Conversation event on 14 January. A panel of parenting experts will bridge generations and help families navigate positive screen time with their children in Videogames and Your Family on 24 January.
