FREE FAMILY EVENTS IGNITE THE IMAGINATION AT ARTS CENTRE MELBOURNE THIS SUMMER

Meet a flock of ‘sheep’ on the Arts Centre Melbourne Lawn and help build a mini-city from recycled materials

Arts Centre Melbourne’s family-fun summertime program includes two free events that will inspire families to interact, connect and discover together. The ‘sheep’ of CORPUS’ Les Moutons will take up residence on the Arts Centre Melbourne Lawn from 19 – 22 January. Lara Tumak’s Imaginary Architecture is calling on architects extraordinaire to build a mega mini-city entirely from recycled materials from 4 – 15 January.

Meet Julie, Marie-Louise, Bernadette and César. They look like sheep. The sound like sheep, and they even get sheared. CORPUS’ Les Moutons (The Sheep) will set up home on Arts Centre Melbourne Lawn for an unforgettable summer. Direct from Canada and with over more than 300 performances worldwide, Les Moutons is a truly innovative experience that bends reality in surprising ways and takes audience interaction to new heights.

Lara Tumak’s Imaginary Architecture is calling on all town planners, master builders and architects to get dreaming and start creating. Architect enthusiasts will draw on their limitless imaginations as they use nothing but their bare hands and a whole lot of recycled materials to build an epic mini-city for all to explore. Simply bring along an empty box (cereal, teabag or biscuit boxes), grab a supplied torch and follow the instructions.
