Epson EcoTank Printer Wins 2016 BLI Award

Sydney, 18 March 2016 – Buyers Laboratory (BLI), the world’s leading independent evaluator of document imaging hardware and software, has awarded it’s 2016 BLI Winter Pick for innovative ink products catering to both business and home office to the Epson EcoTank ET-4550 printer.

“Epson has been awarded three Picks thanks to the unique, cost-saving design of its winning models one of which is the Workforce ET-4550 EcoTank All-in-One printer featuring a cartridge-free design with ink tanks that only need to be replaced every two or so years, and refill bottles that are very affordable. All of this translates to a low total cost of ownership, low intervention rates and less waste, saving customers time and money.”

The top model EcoTank printer in the range, the WorkForce ET-4550, really raises the bar for home office users as, in addition to having all the key features of its siblings the ET-2500, ET-2550 and ET-4500, it is powered by Epson’s unique PrecisionCore™ inkjet technology. Not only does the ET-4550 come with up to two years worth of included ink1 but in this model that constitutes up to 11,000 pages in black2 and 8,500 pages in colour2. As well as Epson Connect™ and Wi-Fi Direct®3 there is auto two-sided printing, a 30-page auto document feeder, a 2.2″ Mono LCD screen, 150-sheet paper capacity and low-cost, easily refillable ink tanks.

The BLI Awards are the most prestigious awards in the industry and are based on several months of laboratory testing with industry lead criteria. BLI tests 200-300 models per year from all OEMs and there is a full and complete evaluation of all aspects of a model. The awards are supported by a published test report and the decision is based on test data as well as the opinions of a committee of BLI analysts and editors.
