EL Gaming Crowned WGL APAC Season I Champion
Grand Finals in Sydney saw EL Gaming defeat B-Gaming to take home $50,000
October 25, 2016 — The Wargaming.net League is happy to announce that EL Gaming is APAC Season I Finals champion. Held in Sydney for the very first time, 12,940 people tuned in online to watch B-Gaming, Team Efficiency, Meltdown and EL Gaming battle it out in World of Tanks.
After several hotly contested matches, EL Gaming sent Team Efficiency to the scrap pile, beating them 7:2 and securing their place in Grand Finals. Then, B-Gaming showed Meltdown how it’s done, winning 7:6.
For the main event, EL Gaming and B-Gaming required nerves of steel as they clashed on the virtual battlefield. Both teams displayed exemplary tank skills, but there could be only one winner. EL Gaming took the grand prize, snagging $50,000, while B-Gaming took $25,000.
“While I couldn’t be there in person, I was keeping a close eye on the intense battles that made the Season 1 APAC Finals such a gripping event,” said Ozan Kocoglu, APAC General Manager at Wargaming.
