EA SPORTS UFC 5 ANNOUNCES RECORD NUMBER OF NEW FIGHTERS

EA SPORTS UFC 5 is announcing a record number of in-game fighter additions, continuing our goal of offering the most authentic gaming experience possible with even more fighters featured via hyper-realistic character likenesses and facial motion to complement next-level environment fidelity.

Our first round of significant roster updates goes live tomorrow April 4th and will be followed by subsequent fighter additions through June. By the end of June, we will have introduced over 30 additional fighters and will reach 98% parity with the current UFC Top 10 Athlete Rankings – this marks the most substantial post-launch roster expansion in EA SPORTS UFC history and every additional rostered fighter will be available for FREE with each update. You can check out the official UFC blog post detailing all the fighter additions and gameplay updates here.

“We hope today’s announcement of the unprecedented number of fighter roster additions over the coming months is a major win for our community” says Nate McDonald, Lead Producer on UFC 5. “With more than 30 active fighters joining UFC 5 between now and the end of June, including surging newcomers like Michael “Venom” Page (MVP) and Kayla Harrison, this marks the most substantial post-launch expansion in our history, and we can’t wait for our community to level up with us.”

**Please Note: After incorporating these additional fighters, we intend to return to our normal update cadence of introducing 2-3 fighters with each patch and ensuring that the in-game roster remains up-to-date with the current UFC Athlete Rankings.”

EA SPORTS heard the player community’s feedback coming off of UFC 5’s launch – Not only will these roster additions provide fans with the fighters they’ve been asking for, but gameplay adjustments will revolutionize how fans can utilize these new fighters. We’ve tuned stamina recovery between rounds, adjusted evasion properties while ducking, and re-balanced the speed and power for various strike types.

The grappling and ground game has also been updated with notable changes to the range and speed of double and single-leg takedown entries. We have increased the short-term stamina cost for muscle-modified transitions, among a slew of other adjustments that you can check out below. Included are downloadable assets featuring five of the new fighters that are available immediately.
