Disappear Into the Unknown: DARKFIELD’s Acclaimed INVISIBLE and FLIGHT Dock in Melbourne this Summer
Please welcome to the stage… The Invisible Man. Listen as he teaches you how to disappear…
DARKFIELD returns to Arts Centre Melbourne this summer, back by popular demand. Following a record breaking season at Adelaide Fringe, the latest addition to the acclaimed collection, INVISIBLE, will make its Melbourne debut on 24 October 2025, joined by the return of audience favourite FLIGHT.
INVISIBLE is an immersive audio experience inside a blacked-out, 40ft shipping container disguised as a theatre. It explores the irresistible temptations of invisibility and also the psychopathic delusions of a dangerous man, questioning our understanding of what it means to be present in the world. Is it enough for us to believe we exist or do we need a witness?
Created by UK-based Artistic Directors Glen Neath and David Rosenberg, DARKFIELD invites audiences to step inside shipping containers where strange worlds unfold. The immersive experiences take place in complete darkness, and challenge the senses using 360-degree binaural audio, to explore the depths of human psychology and perception.
“Following a record-breaking tour across the country, we’re thrilled to be returning to Arts Centre Melbourne with INVISIBLE and can’t wait to see how audiences respond to this latest work.” said Amy Johnson, Realscape Productions.
“INVISIBLE and FLIGHT are ideal for anyone who loves the thrill of multisensory entertainment, and immersing themselves in the unknown.”
INVISIBLE
Please welcome to the stage The Invisible Man. Listen as he teaches you how to disappear. Now that you know the secret… what are you going to do with this remarkable talent? Will you use it for good—or give in to the temptation of chaos? After all, if you can’t be seen, how can you be held responsible for all the terrible things you might choose to do?
FLIGHT
FLIGHT takes audience members through two worlds, two realities and two outcomes to their journey. The many worlds interpretation of Quantum Mechanics proposes all possible outcomes that could occur, are occurring in countless worlds of varying similarity. Find comfort in knowing that however ill-advised your choices have been – there is a version of you who made better ones and is suffering less regret and embarrassment.
Produced in Australia by Realscape Productions, DARKFIELD has to-date seen a global audience of 700,000 people take the plunge into darkness and experience heart-pounding thrill.
DARKFIELD’s INVISIBLE and FLIGHT will play at the Arts Centre Melbourne from the 24 October 2025 to 4 January 2026.
