DAWN OF WAR IV, THE LEGENDARY RTS RETURNS
In the grim darkness of the far future, war has returned to the ravaged world of Kronus. And the world watched as Deep Silver and KING Art Games officially unveiled Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV at Opening Night Live at gamescom. The long-awaited new entry into the iconic real-time strategy series is here. At last, back to war!
The global reveal included a brand-new, cinematic CGI trailer, offering fans their first glimpse of the brutal, large-scale conflicts the franchise is known for. Narratively, the trailer lets us see through Cyrus’s eyes, a Captain in the Blood Ravens 10th Company.

Cyrus narrates his own life of duty, war, and sacrifice, revealing the four main playable factions Space Marines (Blood Ravens), Orks, Adeptus Mechanicus and the Necrons, and returning characters such as Jonah and Gorgutz. It shows the grim, dark and brutal nature of war at epic scale – both ranged and melee!

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV marks a triumphant return to the franchise’s roots, with classic base-building, large armies, and deep strategic gameplay — all brought to life through modern innovations and a fresh narrative set on the iconic planet Kronus, approximately 200 years after the events of Dawn of War: Dark Crusade.
Key features include:
- Four fully playable and distinct factions: Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and the Adeptus Mechanicus. Each of the four factions in Dawn of War IV has a separate campaign which tells a different side of the overall story, featuring a total of 70+ missions
- Extensive solo campaigns and other game modes: Skirmish, co-op, competitive multiplayer, along with the return of the fan-favourite Last Stand. In each of the game’s modes players build bases, assume control of faction Commanders, gather resources, and command units to ultimately overwhelm the enemy’s forces
- Legendary Warhammer storytelling at its finest: Co-written by legendary Black Library author John French, each faction has its own cinematic CGI intro and there are about 40 minutes of cutscenes. Campaigns feature non-linear and optional elements, providing replayability for players who want to explore every inch of this epic saga
- Biggest Dawn of War at launch: Four distinct factions, 10+ playable Commanders, 110+ units / buildings, many of which are customisable, In-game editor for player-created content and Painter tool for unit customisation
