Jedi Grogu!
Star Wars has been around since 1977 and has spawned films, TV series, comics, books, games and more toys than you could poke a lightsaber at, it has had its ups and sadly, downs… I’m looking at you, Acolyte. However, the best two elements (IMHO) in recent times have been The Mandalorian (aka Din Djarin) and “Baby Yoda,” whose name is Grogu. And to celebrate Grogu and that special moment in The Book of Boba Fett, DamienSaber have launched a fantastic prop with their Green Grogu Lightsaber XENOpixel Short Saber.
So who is “Baby Yoda”?
Grogu, also known as “The Child,” is a Force-sensitive being of the same mysterious and unnamed species as Yoda. He first appeared in The Mandalorian, where he was rescued by Din Djarin (the Mandalorian) from an Imperial remnant seeking to exploit his powers. Despite his young age of around 50 years, Grogu exhibits strong Force abilities, including telekinesis and healing.
He was also trained briefly at the Jedi Temple before surviving Order 66 and later being hidden for years. In The Book of Boba Fett, Grogu is presented with a pivotal choice by Luke Skywalker: to take Yoda’s lightsaber and continue his Jedi training or accept a Beskar chainmail gift from Din Djarin and return to him. Grogu chooses to reunite with Din Djarin, prioritizing their bond over the Jedi path.
So here we are again with another DamienSaber lightsaber and needless to say, the anticipation for this lightsaber from this company was high. Like other items, it comes extremely well packed with super-fast DHL postage! Once unleashed from its box, the first thing you notice is its compact size that is inspired by the Mandalorian’s beloved character, Grogu. The hilt is short (around 18 cm), making it ideal for collectors, younger fans or those who prefer a one-handed dueling style.
It also comes with two different blade lengths ( and like all Jedi and Sith, it does require some assembly. However, DamienSaber ensures it comes with all the tools needed and even a kyber crystal, well battery to power this prop plus a USB-C cable. Like other lightsabers from this company, it offers awesome colour combinations, multiple sound fonts, plus motion controls for ignition and effects so you can channel your inner Yoda. Brilliant!

For the most part, the build quality is excellent and the durable aluminium hilt is reminiscent of a Star Wars lightsaber built for Grogu, including the plastic blade that lights up just like a real one. Additionally, it feels well-balanced and makes for the perfect collectible or cosplay accessory. To attach the blade, it simply slides into the hilt and you use the included screws to tighten it. My only gripe is the charging of the hilt, because you need to literally take it all apart in order to access the USB-C charging port and I did find that some of the paint came off the two small screw covers. But hey, it adds to the overall aesthetics because nothing is pristine in the Star Wars universe, unless you’re living on the Death Star… that place is way too clinical. And as Han Solo once told Luke… “It’s not like dusting crops, farm boy,” which adds to the experience of this saber when you take it apart and reassemble it.
There is a button on the saber to “ignite” the lightsaber, including powering it down and this is also used to adjust lighting, sound fonts and volume. Alternatively, it comes with an app that makes this process a whole lot easier. The different lighting is fantastic, as are the motion effects, including the great sound effects that really allow you to become immersed with this product. It’s also a well-balanced product that enhances the overall build quality of this DamienSaber product.
Final Thoughts?
This Grogu-inspired lightsaber is brilliant and is available from DamienSaber with a starting price of $209 for the XRGB3.0 model or $329 for the Xenopixel 3.0 model (August 2025). So if you’re looking to channel your inner Grogu Jedi or want an awesome one-of-a-kind Star Wars collectible, this is indeed the lightsaber you are looking for!
