D-Link ANZ Launches Full 180-Degree Field of View HD Wi-Fi Camera

SYDNEY, 7 June 2016: D-Link ANZ has launched a new Full HD 180-degree Ultra-Wide View Wi-Fi Camera. The Full HD DCS-2630L ‘Wide Eye’ camera is the company’s first 180-degree Wi-Fi Camera, delivering the widest angle lens available on a consumer fixed camera. The DCS-2630L offers advanced features, including HD video quality, two-way audio, sound and motion detection, microSD Card slot for local recording1, and automatic day/night viewing – making this camera an ideal start to a DIY security solution for any home or small business.

Other Wi-Fi cameras on the market offer on average a 130-degree or less field-of-view, while the new D-Link Ultra-Wide View Camera provides wall-to-wall surveillance coverage from a single device – perfect for large rooms and areas with multiple entry points. Using unique de-warping technology, the 180-degree Wide Eye lens is able to take a “fish eye” view and transform it into a more viewable video stream with less distortion. Built-in night vision offers up to five metres of viewing in total darkness, and with two-way audio users can respond to what they see and hear.

D-Link ANZ MD Graeme Reardon said, “For some years now D-Link has been focusing on easy to use and highly effective DIY security solutions. Our new 180-degree ‘Wide-Eye’ camera provides customers with the ability to see an entire room from a single camera, all in glorious Full HD. The fact that a single camera can now provide full wall-to-wall coverage is a huge benefit to consumers and small businesses as many other competing solutions may require several cameras to see all the details within a room. This means D-Link customers can worry less about what they might be missing out on seeing, as well as avoiding the inherent complexities of a multiple camera solution.”

With the microSD card slot, users have more flexibility on recording video locally to the camera without impacting network or Internet bandwidth, all with no recurring monthly fees. In addition, users can choose different options for recording based on event trigger, schedule or continuous recording for more control on what video they want to record.

When combined with the mydlink Camera Recorder (DNR-202L), users can simultaneously stream, record and playback up to four D-Link Wi-Fi Cameras for home security 24/7. The Camera Recorder records footage locally to an attached USB hard drive. There is no need for cloud-based storage, contracts or fees – delivering a comprehensive surveillance solution at an affordable price point.

Along with Full HD video quality, the camera can be easily accessed and managed with the free mydlink Lite app from iOS and Android devices, as well as Windows Phones. In addition, built-in 802.11AC Wi-Fi technology enables customers to connect the camera to the 5GHz band, providing better bandwidth for streaming HD video.
