D-Link A/NZ launches DWM-311 4G LTE M2M VPN Modem for IoT applications

D-Link A/NZ has launched the DWM-311 4G LTE M2M VPN Modem, a robust and secure connectivity solution designed specifically for remote Machine-to-Machine (M2M) deployments across industrial IoT applications. Built to withstand harsh environments while delivering reliable high-speed connectivity, the DWM-311 is ideal for mission-critical applications including industrial monitoring systems, vending machines and remote infrastructure management.

“As industrial IoT deployments continue to grow, reliable and secure connectivity in challenging environments is no longer optional – it’s essential,” said Graeme Reardon, Managing Director, D-Link A/NZ. “The DWM-311 delivers industrial-grade performance with plug-and-play simplicity, enabling businesses to deploy M2M solutions with confidence knowing their critical infrastructure will remain connected and secure.”

The DWM-311 combines Cat.4 4G LTE mobile broadband connectivity with a Gigabit Ethernet port, ensuring fast and stable connections essential for M2M applications. Its industrial-grade design features a corrosion-resistant zinc-plated steel casing and operates reliably across a wide temperature range, making it perfect for deployment in challenging outdoor and industrial environments where conventional networking equipment would fail.

Simply insert a Micro-SIM card and power up – the DWM-311 instantly connects M2M devices to the high-speed 4G cellular network. The compact, rugged design is purpose-built for harsh conditions, while the integrated OpenVPN client enhances security and protects data integrity across the network, making it ideal where quick setup and robust connectivity are crucial.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Cat.4 4G LTE mobile broadband connectivity for reliable, high-speed M2M communications
  • Industrial-grade zinc-plated steel casing with wide operating temperature and humidity tolerance for harsh environments
  • Integrated OpenVPN client for secure data transmission and protection against unauthorized network access
  • Gigabit Ethernet port for fast, reliable wired LAN connectivity and high-efficiency data transmission
  • Comprehensive remote management via D-ECS Edge Cloud Solution and SMS control, minimizing on-site visits
  • Compact form factor (77 x 69 x 26 mm) enables easy installation in space-constrained locations
  • Plug-and-pla setup with simple Micro-SIM card installation for instant 4G connectivity

Centralised Management

The DWM-311 utilises the optional D-Link Edge Cloud Solution (D-ECS) portal which also features automatic failure detection and alerts to resolve network issues quickly and efficiently.

It also features:

  • Status Monitoring and Alerts
  • Traffic Report for Data Analysis
  • View Connected Client Lists
  • Routine Maintenance Scheduled Tasks
  • Geo-Location with Google Maps
  • Floor Plan Management
  • Multi-Tenant Role-Based Access Control
  • Built-in Diagnostic Tools

The DWM-311’s intelligent automation capabilities are particularly valuable for applications such as self-service vending machines, where the modem enables real-time remote access for monitoring operations, automating replenishment requests, and streamlining logistics to reduce operational costs. With automated network task services and D-ECS platform integration, IT administrators can focus on proactive monitoring rather than routine maintenance, while automatic failure detection and alerts enable rapid resolution of network issues before they impact operations.

This launch reinforces D-Link’s core philosophy of “One Connection – Infinite Possibilities,” underscoring the company’s commitment to secure, smart, and efficient networking solutions that evolve with customer needs in the industrial IoT sector.
