Pets hold a special place in our hearts, no matter what species or size and sometimes you just want to give them a hug to feel that bond that also serves as a positive mental health power-up. Additionally their loyal connection to us can also decrease our stress and even improve our heart health, so yes pets are amazing part of our lives.
Cue in the Cuddle Clones which is a one-of-a-kind hand crafted plush that in essence immortalises our pets in teddy bear form. With thousands of positive five-star reviews and with the recent passing of our beloved dog Ruby (5-May-2025), we Googled upon Cuddle Clones and started the process of creating a unique memory for the most amazing dog in the multiverse.
Before we start, it should be mentioned that Cuddle Clones are not 100% replicas of our pets but rather a plush representation that has been meticulously crafted to bring them into this format – and in Ruby’s situation, it’s a perfect way to remember them rather than just through a static photo. Needless to say, my family and I were excited to see how Cuddle Clones would create our plush dog Ruby.
In order to create the most lifelike plush of your beloved pet, Cuddle Clones has an easy process that includes the following steps.

Fill out a short online form with your pet’s breed, age, colouring and any special features. - Upload Photos
Submit clear, well-lit photos from different angles—including the face, tail, and paws. The better the images, the better the match. - Add Personal Details
Share your pet’s eye color, fur texture, ear position, and other distinctive traits. - We Create Your Clone
Expert artisans dedicate 8–12 hours to crafting your plush, using thousands of fabric options and meticulous airbrushing for accuracy.

Cuddle Clones are also available in a range of sizes from 4″ to 23″ depending on species and customization.
What is great about Cuddle Clones is that you can immortalise your pet at a certain age, whether that’s in their peak, a puppy or in old age, the option is yours. In Ruby’s circumstances, we chose to remember her in her peak where she used to fly through the air catching balls, chasing planes that invaded our airspace or wanting to chase cars, bikes and other dogs. She was the Alpha! For those who have lost their pets, you can also request Cuddle Clones to create a discrete zipper pouch so you can put your let’s ashes inside the plush.

Cuddle Clones also offers a full-refund if you are not happy with your plush, however as mentioned earlier, this is not an exact replica but rather, a plush interpretation of our dog and because our memories are so solid, our brains will notice things a little strange, almost like the Uncanny Valley with robots. This is the same with Cuddle Clones because of the similarities they have with our pets that we love so dearly.
The quality of our Cuddle Clone was faultless and the attention to detail placed by the artisan who created Ruby is impressive. The Ruby Cuddle Clone had a similar look and even the way she sat mirrored our beloved dog so well. The handcrafted faux fur felt nice to touch and the eyes looked very realistic. Another highlight was her ears that allowed us to move them, much like Ruby’s which was a nice touch, including the tail. My daughter burst into tears when she saw plush Ruby because yes, it did look like Ruby and it brought back all those wonderful emotions – now, she just loves to give it hugs cuddles and call it Ruby. That’s the power of a Cuddle Clone.
One major difference was the colouring was more tanned than red which Ruby was, however in her older age, she did become more tanned and white so this plush is a mixture of her in her peak and also her senior years. Also her fur was a little shaggier opposed to smooth, including her tail but again this is a “version” of Ruby in plush form. And remember these Cuddle Clones are created from the photos we send them, including adding any descriptions that will help the artisans in their work.
Final Thoughts?
Cuddle Clones are not cheap for obvious reasons because they are a handmade plush to provide an everlasting tribute to our beloved pets. Even though Cuddle Clones are not real, they still provide you with a thoughtful and emotional memory of our pets who sadly only walk with us for a short-time.
