Summary: The Crucial Pro DDR5-6400 32GB Kit is perfect for those looking at performance without breaking the bank!

4.7

Simple speed

The Crucial Pro DDR5-6400 32GB Kit comes with two 16GB modules that is a great solution for those looking to upgrade their systems on a budget and with mid-tier results. Best of all this memory kit is engineered to deliver improved speed and bandwidth from its older DDR siblings which nicely compliments the latest multicore CPUs. One of the main features of the Crucial Pro DDR5-6400 32GB Kit is its dual compatibility with both Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO profiles, offering users seamless one click overclocking capabilities without the need for manual timing adjustments. This flexibility ensures that whether you are running an Intel Arrow Lake or an AMD Ryzen 9000 series processor, you can effortlessly unlock the advertised DDR5-6400 speeds with optimized timings.

In terms of design, the modules operate at a voltage of 1.35V which is a perfect balance between performance and thermal management. Additionally the modules are built with Micron’s own D die ICs, specifically the 4SD75 D8GVH chips that make the memory a workhouse for both gaming and resource hungry software. Each 16GB module features a single rank design with eight 2GB ICs on one side of the black PCB that in turn creates a low profile with broad compatibility.

Unboxing

With its sleek appearance with an aluminium anodized heat spreader, it definitely targets the minimalist build without all the filler of RGB lighting… sure it looks great but it is not necessary. In terms of height, it comes in at 1.38 inches or 35mm that ensure even the largest cooler should not pose an issue for this memory. To install, you simply insert into your spare memory slots and presto, it will be automatically recognised by the motherboard, including its base timings which is 38-40-40-84 @ 1.35V.

Our test system was powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X and on AIDA64 Memory Benchmark, the Crucial Pro DDR5-6400 scored on the high-end of the spectrum. With some overclocking, we saw some minimal improvements of around 2%, however this is dependent on settings and the system itself – in other words, it’s a combination of CPU, motherboard and graphics card.

AIDA64 Memory Benchmark

Read 100,200 MB/s Write 86,800 MB/s
Copy 98,300 MB/s Latency 65.9 ns

#: Tested with an AMD Ryzen 9 9900X CPU with New Install of Windows 11

And overclocking, we tweaked the timings and managed to get a moderate gain of around 2% with AIDA64 Memory Benchmark, including a small improvement in frame rate with Cyberpunk 2077,  Call of Duty Black Ops 6 and Spider-man 2. I’m sure if we pushed it a little more, we could reach higher speeds but alas that is the job of a true PC enthusias.

Final Thoughts?

The Crucial Pro DDR5-6400 32GB Kit strikes an impressive balance between performance, compatibility and price. Its support for both Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO profiles means you can hit advertised speeds with a single BIOS tweak, making it perfect for builders who value simplicity as much as stability. Running at 1.35 V on Micron’s 4SD75 D-die ICs, these modules deliver solid bandwidth—around 100 GB/s read and ~87 GB/s writewith latency in the mid-60 ns range, matching or besting many stock DDR5-6400 offerings. The low-profile heat spreaders complement compact and large-airflow builds alike, ensuring thermal performance without the RGB frills.

While extreme overclockers might chase tighter timings and higher frequencies, most gamers and content creators will be hard-pressed to notice the marginal gains beyond DDR5-6400. So if you want reliable, plug-and-play memory that unlocks the potential of Intel Arrow Lake or AMD Ryzen 9000 processors without breaking the bank, this kit is a standout choice.
