Clover Press’ THE MARVEL ART OF… Series Continues with THE MARVEL ART OF DAVID NAKAYAMA

Clover Press and Marvel are collaborating for The Marvel Art Of… books, a series of high-end, boutique artbooks that showcase legendary Marvel Comics artists, featuring iconic images alongside rare and never-before-seen artwork. The third book in the stunning series will be THE MARVEL ART OF DAVID NAKAYAMA, a high-end coffee table book, portfolio, and prints that celebrate the career of one of today’s most distinctive cover artists. David Nakayama is known for his many X-MEN, DEADPOOL and SPIDER-MAN covers, highlighting his fun and colorful take on Marvel’s iconic characters. After winning a talent contest to break into comics, he soon went into the video game industry, before returning to comic books at Marvel and gaining popularity as a cover artist with his exuberant and beautiful style gracing the likes of Scarlet Witch and Spider-Gwen to the White Queen. The Kickstarter campaign is now live.

“Guys, I’m stoked! Fans have been asking me for an Art Book for YEARS, and today I’m delighted to announce that it’s finally happening!” said David Nakayama. “And at the highest possible quality too, thanks to the fine folks at Clover Press. I’ve gone back through my archives and assembled well over 10 years worth of work (!)—everything from my earliest Marvel Adventures stuff all the way up to today’s Hellfire Gala covers. If you’ve ever wanted the definitive collection of my work, this is definitely the way to get it.”

The Marvel Art Of… books are a series of high-end, boutique artbooks that showcase legendary Marvel Comics’ artists, featuring iconic images alongside rare and never-before-seen artwork. The Marvel Art of David Nakayama collects Nakayama’s colorful art from his DVD and Marvel Legends packaging art to his exclusive and rare retailer variants for the first time, featuring a foreword by J. Scott Campbell. The Marvel Art Of… series debuted earlier this year with The Marvel Art of David Mack and The Marvel Art of Alex Maleev.

“David Nakayama’s work is remarkable! It’s fantastic seeing how his work has evolved over the years, and how his ‘signature style’ clicks into place,” said Clover Books Publisher Hank Kanalz. “We’re working directly with David to collect a beautiful representation of his work with Marvel. Supporting these campaigns supports each talent directly and provides access to fans who may not be able to connect with artists at conventions.”
