Celebrate the 14th Anniversary of the First Alan Wake with the Alan Wake 2: The Original Soundtrack—Available May 14

Remedy Entertainment, Epic Games and Laced Records are thrilled to announce the release of Alan Wake 2: The Original Soundtrack, available May 14 on Spotify, Apple Music, and other major music services. The official soundtrack takes players on an aural journey that mirrors the compelling mystery and immersive world of Alan Wake 2, coinciding with the 14th anniversary of the original Alan Wake game release.

The soundtrack, which has been meticulously crafted to complement the game’s immersive experience, consists of 35 tracks that perfectly capture the emotion, tension, and mystery of the game’s story. From the haunting melodies that underscore the game’s more introspective moments to the scarier, more intense sections, composer and musician Petri Alanko has created a musical masterpiece as memorable as the game itself.

“Working on Alan Wake 2 was like coming home, comparable to meeting old friends after so many years, seeing everything had changed a bit – and that longing feeling had its place among the building blocks of Alan Wake 2’s soundtrack,” says Alanko, who also composed the original Alan Wake soundtrack 14 years ago.

“From a composer’s point of view, the soundtrack has no filler, with each musical cue emphasizing a certain sequence of events that fans have experienced on screen. I hope the result is as pleasing to you as it is to myself, and trust me, I carefully thought about the soundtrack. To me, be it a movie soundtrack or a video game soundtrack, it should work as an entity in and of itself.”

The soundtrack includes four songs performed by the artist Poe and written specifically for the game by her and Creative Director Sam Lake, as well as the song ‘Yötön Yö’ (‘Nightless Night’), written by Lake and performed by Martti Suosalo, who plays Ahti in the game.

Alan Wake 2: The Original Soundtrack will be available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal, and more, and for purchase on iTunes, Amazon, and more, starting on May 14, 2024. This release, marking the 14th anniversary of the first Alan Wake, invites fans of the game and music enthusiasts alike to delve into the rich auditory landscapes created by Petri Alanko, evoking the spirit and mystery of Alan Wake’s continuing saga.

Alan Wake 2 pushes players into a psychological horror story from the perspective of two playable characters. Saga Anderson risks her life to solve a deadly mystery of murders in the Pacific Northwest while Alan Wake attempts to rewrite his reality to escape the depths of the Dark Place, a nightmare version of New York City.

Taking full advantage of the power of current consoles and PC, and driven by Remedy Entertainment’s proprietary Northlight engine, players will take on powerful supernatural enemies in desperate situations filled with intense suspense and unexpected twists. Anderson and Wake are two heroes on two desperate journeys in two separate realities, connected at heart in ways neither of them can understand.
