Cairn’s first DLC revealed
The Game Bakers reveals On the Trail, a free DLC for the critically acclaimed survival climber Cairn.
Cairn launched January 29 to glowing players and media reviews, with a 85 score on Metacritic and 94% positive reviews on Steam. Called “a stunning and surprising masterpiece” by. Eurogamer or “among the best videogames in years” by PC Gamer, the game has earned critical acclaim for its intense climbing simulation, breathtaking art direction, and a deeply human story about sacrifice and the limits of the human spirit. The game sold over half a million copies in 2 months making it one of the most successful indie games of 2026 so far.
On the Trail – Deep Water is the first of a series of free DLC bringing Cairn climbers with new climbing locations and fresh challenges as they follow the trail of a legendary climber. The DLC brings 3 new climbing areas, and introduces water soloing: players can now climb over water, without the consequences of plummeting to their death! The DLC is expected to launch Summer 2026 for PC and PS5
