Bitdefender Launches New Version of Antivirus for Mac

Bucharest, Romania, October, 7, 2015 – Bitdefender, the creator of innovative online security software, has launched its new Antivirus for Mac to offer both maximum convenience and protection that has been proven 100% effective in independent tests.

The latest generation of Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac eliminates annoying adware, malicious hijacker programs and unwanted toolbars with its new Adware Protection, and Bitdefender Autopilot for Mac is added to ensure maximum ease of use.

The sublime ease of use comes on top of the well-established effectiveness of Bitdefender software. In testing by independent research firm AV-TEST, Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac caught 100% of the malware thrown at it. And it gave off no false positives, meaning that, unlike other programs, it offers complete protection for users without mistaking good files for bad ones.

“In a nutshell, Bitdefender has designed a program so effective and so convenient that Mac users can go about their work or play and completely forget the internet is often a dangerous place,” Bitdefender’s Chief Security Strategist Catalin Cosoi. “Bitdefender has tapped its considerable expertise and long history in the online security industry to keep users safe from all malware – even new and unknown threats. And features such as Adware Protection and Autopilot offer a level of convenience virtually unheard of in such comprehensive security.”

Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac is now fully compatible with OS X El Capitan. And, with the new intuitive, beautifully redesigned interface, it allows for seamless integration with Macs, operating together with Mac security features such as Gatekeeper, and enhances overall user experience. Users can download, install and manage Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac in one spot, and remotely scan their systems and optimize their security.

AV-TEST trials earlier this year concluded Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac offers best Protection and Best Performance, stopping all malware with an extremely low impact on system performance. That testing showed a difference of only 7/10 of a second between the reference, an unprotected Mac, and a Mac protected by Bitdefender when transferring a 26.6 GByte file.
