Belkin BoostCharge Pro: 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Stand Review (Perfect for Father’s Day)
More Power! That’s what we want. There are never enough chargers when you need them and when you do have enough, you have a tangle of cords and a monumental fight of horizontal wall socket or power board space between one brick and another. No more fishing out the cord that fell behind the bed head, or under the desk, finally something you actually wouldn’t mind having next to your bed or on your office desk – The Belkin BoostCharge Pro!
Specifications
There is not too much posted on the official specs page. This is a very simple product and is fundamentally a charger but also a decorative compliment for the desk or side table.
The 36W USB-C power supply feeds the three integrated Qi2 charging points for a total combined 15W of output power.
The 2-year warranty which includes $2,500 (AUD) of Connected Equipment warranty is effectively designed to cover the cost of your smartphone and/or smartwatch should anything untoward happen – which is highly unlikely.

Unboxing & First Impressions
In true Belkin form, the Box is simple and elegant, with two tone green and white and a picture of the stand. The core functions are listed and easy to read and understand.
Opening the box was different as it opens from the side, which was cute and different!
Well packaged and appointed, everything was in its place and the stand itself had peelable tape to protect it, and that is always fun to remove.
The weight of the stand is perfect, there is some solid weight which was not stated in the specs. It topped out the small scales at 509g although it might be a bit over. In any case, the point is this magnetic charging stand won’t slide around the desk uncontrollably like a bad performance of Disney on Ice, it will stay where you put it.
Only the left arm is rotatable to a full face up position and almost 90 degrees forward, however the watch charging point – the right, is fixed. This means that the viewing angle for the watch screen is expected to be ~45 degree mark, or rather an eye-level peering down from a seated position at the desk. This seems odd, but its really neither here-nor-there.
Overall the build quality is great, the cord is a decent length, but it is fixed in place and cannot be removed, of course you could extend it with a high quality USB-C Extension cable, suitable for charging – but you shouldn’t and wouldn’t need to.
There are of course a few things to make note of:
- The obvious oversight (or intention) with the design is that it could easily incorporate a USB extension hub, that is, to allow additional USB-C charging or even a data link to be used as a USB hub. It may have only extended the base thickness by a few mm, but of course it is a hard call to make.
- The Qi charging ring on the main base and white (right) protrudes slightly and is noticeable, which draws the eye. This is not the case for the left. Having the tactile and visual ring is just part of the course for Qi chargers, but the inconsistency is enough for the OCD IT nerds to develop a complex that only 12 hours of gaming can remedy.
- The USB-C cord has a ‘grey’ tinge to the material that keeps looking dusty. It’s a small thing but once the light hits it and you associate the thought of the cable being dusty – you may find yourself trying to clean it by mistake.
Testing and Performance
We tested and verified the following in a real-world scenario:
Magnetic points
All three charging points are magnetic. We didn’t have a fancy gauss meter but using a heavy duty fridge magnet and testing the full perimeter and centre of each charge point, we can confidently say that the magnet is strong and you can absolutely unequivocally trust your device on it.
The flat bottom base is also magnetic as well, so this adds to the functionality and purpose – the entire stand can be moved with all devices on it.
Charging
We did not have a smartwatch capable of being charged via Qi to test, but nevertheless the other two charge pads were tested and charged appropriately. Two phones were charged at the same time without issue.
Keeping in mind that this is 15W overall, it is not as fast as USB-C directly, but is perfectly appropriate for an overnight charge.
Charging works as advertised.
Although not in our case, a large phone on the left could possibly foul a large phone on the bottom unless tilted up. Even if this happened, it is less likely to bother most people even with extra-large phones or phablets. It wouldn’t be detrimental enough to give it a second thought, especially if charging the phone at night anyway.
As shown on the box, you would charge a phone, a smaller device such as the earbuds and a watch, then everything is good to go. But there is no reason you cannot charge two phones in place – we did and had a few cm to spare.
Base grip
The rubber grip is excellent. The entire base top and bottom is a beautiful grippy smooth rubber-silicon? In any case whatever it truly is made of, it feels soft to touch, grips onto a flat surface and won’t let go easily.
The weight and this material is the perfect combination , it wont mark a desk and it won’t slide around or make the stand become indifference.
You can bump the stand with your phone and you may make it wobble but you would have to purposely try to bump your phone off or move it around. It’s far better than a floating disc that gets buried under a stack of papers or falls behind the PC or bed headboard.
Final Thoughts
The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Charging Stand is a simple, but solid product.
In terms of value, it makes a lot of sense for users who genuinely want to simplify their charging solution and in particular for iPhone and Apple Watch owners.
We tested it with Android phones, as that was what was at hand this week. But it performs well and won’t overheat your devices, won’t get up and crawl around the table, and with the appropriate phone case it will hold on tight magnetically.
In terms of value, if you are an Apple fanboy or fangirl, then you are likely already used to paying a premium for associated accessories. Retailing for AUD $219.95 on the official Belkin website, you can find it cheaper with up to 25% off on Amazon. At ~$165 this may represent great value for what it is – 3x Qi2 charging points in a strong, sturdy and decent looking stand. Considering singular Qi2 charging accessories can be upwards of $100 AUD on their own.
There are cheaper alternatives with similar specifications, I.e 15W USB-C and 3xQi2 points, one dedicated to watches. However, where some of these may begin with appealing ~$50-100 price tags, they likely will not include the attached devices warranty, strong heavy immovable base and look and feel of the Belkin. Nevertheless, it is always worth shopping around.
Summary: The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging station is a well built and effective charger. Best value for money if purchased <$150 AUD.
