Summary: Would not make a whole lot of sense unless you have read at least some of the Avengers Assemble series but it is a spectacle in its own right.

Of epic proportions

Set after the events of Avengers Assemble #15 and the end of this writer’s run with Avengers this is a suitably epic end for this series. Maybe does not make a lot of sense if you have not read any of the proceeding series but is a spectacle enough in itself.

Somehow it seems the heroes are down to not as many versions of themselves this far into the battle and Mephisto has unleashed a wave that will wipe out all existence rather than lose himself. This is the very last roll of the dice from the Avengers.

It was a bit strange that they just stood around talking even when they were meant to be fighting each other. I also liked the bit about people not wanting to go back to their own realties as they thought they sucked.

While not an essential read it would still be great to get with the trade paperback of the Avengers Assemble series or at least have a look at this one if you like something with a lot of action.
