Australian Championships of Cosplay Debuts at Oz Comic-Con in 2015

Today, ReedPOP, the world’s leading producer of pop culture events, announces the debut of a new Cosplay championship series at this year’s Oz Comic-Con events. The inaugural Australian Championships of Cosplay will be the biggest and most prestigious costume contests in Australia, and serve as another stop for fans in the “Quest for the Crown,” a new Cosplay competition circuit that celebrates the very best in Cosplay design from around the world.

Cosplay veterans, former champions and amateurs alike will battle it out at qualifying heats at Oz Comic-Con Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney throughout the year, with the winner of each qualifier heading to Oz Comic-Con Sydney for their shot at becoming the Australian Champion of Cosplay.

That’s not all, as the Australian Champion of Cosplay will go on to represent Oz against the best cosplayers from around the world in the C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay in Chicago (April 2016), the final round in the “Quest for the Crown” competition.

Witness the spectacle and pageantry of this fun-filled competition celebrating the best Cosplayers Australia has to offer — entries spanning the worlds of comics, movies, television, video games, anime, manga, science fiction and fantasy!

Famed cosplayer Abby Dark-Star will be on the ground at Oz Comic-Con Perth and Adelaide to judge the competition, with additional judge announcements coming soon!

The Australian Crown Championship of Cosplay Prizes will Include:

The Australian Crown Champion of Cosplay/ First Place in Australia (to be crowned at Oz Comic-Con Sydney, September 26-27, 2015):

Fans can register here to participate in each states qualifying heat. Applications for Oz Comic-Con Perth must be in by11:59PM on Friday, March 13 and applications for Oz Comic-Con Adelaide must be in by 11:59PM on Friday, March 20.
