Australian cast announced for ‘COME ALIVE!’ The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular

The Australian cast of ‘COME ALIVE!’ The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular has today been announced for the first tour outside of its ongoing sellout run in London.

‘COME ALIVE! The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular kicks off a national tour on May 19 in Sydney under the purpose-built Hippodrome at the Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park. The production will then travel across the country with stops in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Melbourne.

With beloved songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul from the 20th Century Fox Motion Picture, including This Is Me, Rewrite the Stars, A Million Dreams (and more!), the show reimagines the soundtrack as you’ve never experienced it before: live, loud, and breathtakingly up close.

Leading the all-Australian cast of actors, singers, dancers and acrobats is theatre rising stars Des Flanagan (CATS, Moulin Rouge!) and Ruby Clark (The Lord of the Rings). They will be joined by local and international circus sensations to bring this internationally acclaimed production to life.

Des Flanagan is popular among theatre crowds with roles in several recent musicals, notably as Christian in Moulin Rouge! Other highlights include Handa Opera’s West Side Story on Sydney Harbour, Thomas in The Beautiful Game, and Nathan in One Day in September with Perryman Theatre Company. While on screen credits include T-Bone in Neighbours and the acclaimed short film Rabbits, directed by Riley Sugars, which earned him a Best Lead Actor nomination at the Black Bird International Film Festival in New York.

Ruby Clark’s star is fast on the rise with a career spanning stage and screen. Theatre credits include Rosie / US Galadriel, Arwen and Pippin in Lord of the Rings (GWB), Reza in Once (Darlinghurst Theatre Company), Do We Need Another Hero (Opera QLD), Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (Hayes Theatre Co), Rizzo in Grease (Royal Caribbean), Maureen Johnson in Rent (QPAC), and Sarah in Songs for Sarah Connor (Melbourne International Comedy Festival), among others.

An accomplished violinist, Ruby has performed professionally in bands, cabarets and musicals including Lesbian Love Stories (The Local Lesbians), Bright Star (Pursued by Bear) and Spring Awakening (Metro Arts). She is also an accredited stunt performer, working on feature films across Australia.

Inspired by the world of The Greatest Showman, ‘COME ALIVE!’ is a heart-pounding new live experience featuring jaw-dropping acrobatic artistry, gravity-defying aerial acts and the soaring anthem hits audiences know and love.
