Humankind is Amplitude’s biggest and most ambitious game yet, and we’re thrilled to finally be showing it to the world. To help with this process, we’ve decided to break down our beloved historical strategy game’s many cool, innovative features into bite-sized, accessible videos that we’ll be dropping on a bi-monthly basis on the Humankind YouTube channel. Each “feature reveal” video will include dev interviews, never-before-seen gameplay, and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.

Before we dive into the brand-new feature reveals, in this first installment, “Origins”, we’re giving a birds-eye-view of the inspirations and ideas behind Humankind and why it means so much to us as a studio.  You’ll be hearing from some of Amplitude’s founders, including studio head and creative director Romain de Waubert and narrative director Jeff Spock, as they take us through their mindset in creating this new and exciting project.

There’s much more to come too — stay tuned for the 2nd installment, where we’ll be getting into the innovative, fully-tactical Humankind terrain, with its many different biomes, elevations and natural wonders.
