AMD Announces New Ryzen AI Z2 Processors for Gaming Handhelds
As part of ASUS and Microsoft’s announcement at the Xbox Games Showcase, AMD introduced new Ryzen Z2 Series processors; the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme and AMD Ryzen Z2 A, which will power the new ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handhelds.
The new Ryzen Z2 processors enable world-class AAA gaming on the go with two new powerful variants:
- The AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme features the latest “Zen 5” architecture, 8 cores/16 threads, RDNA 3.5 graphics, and up to 50 TOPS of AI compute power to a handheld gaming device for the first time.
- AMD Ryzen Z2 A is built on the efficient “Zen 2” architecture, featuring 4 cores/8 threads and RDNA 2 graphics. This processor is optimized for smooth, long-lasting gaming.
Both processors take full advantage of Radeon’s software suite for graphics and performance improvements, including AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution (FSR), Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), and AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) frame generation, to deliver truly immersive gaming.
