Kingdom Come: Deliverance … our Mini-Survival Guide!

Henry may be on his quest for justice and revenge for his murdered family, but he finds himself drawn into a much larger world and something even bigger than himself and personal revenge. Therefore, in order for you our fellow Impulse Gamers to sally forth and survive, here are few helpful things to keep in mind.

The game has an interesting system that requires the player character (much like real life) to have to eat and sleep to stay healthy. So make sure to get your sleep in the game. Equipment and clothing will degrade over time and use. So be ready to repair them once you learn the skills and acquire the equipment to do so.

Further, be aware that food will spoil over time. You are required to eat, but eating spoiled food will degrade the characters health making them sick. The game using a skills and stats based system sets the player off on their way rather quickly in this system.

After the introductory cut-scene, players have the chance to select the main characteristics of Henry. The game offers four choices at this point and they are Speech, Agility, Vitality, and Strength. Each one of these has its own merits in the game. Not to worry, the other skills will grow over time as well. However, what the player chooses at this point, that skill develops early on. There are a lot of conversations to be had, and  in order to influence the people the player is speaking to, we suggest cultivating Speech first.

When having conversation with other characters that you are trying to influence, remember that it is not only your speech, but also how your character Henry looks that are factors. If Henry looks all ratty and beat up, well he may not be as influential.

If you look at the bottom left corner of the screen, this shows the skill points. Whatever choice you make in the interaction has to have a higher skill point value than that of the person Henry is talking to in order for it to be successful.

Lastly, in battle Henry may find himself battling more than one enemy. Learn early on about switching opponents and locking on to them. Switching from one opponent to another fast will be your best chance at survival, that and blocking incoming attacks. A bunch of incoming attacks actually.

Try to make sure to take out one opponent before moving on to the next. If you can maneuver some place that forces how they all come at you in a more manageable way and not encircle you, then that will make things a bit easier.
