ONCE UPON A KATAMARI ROLLS ON TO NINTENDO SWITCH 2 WITH A NEW DLC ON 8 OCTOBER 2026
Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe announced today Once Upon A KATAMARI is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on the digital eShop on 8 October 2026. The good times keep on rolling with a new edition Once Upon A KATAMARI Rolling LIVE Highlights Edition, which introduces the Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC with new stages, songs and more!

The base game Once Upon A KATAMARI takes players on a journey across time through the Jurassic Period, the Ice Age, historic Japan and more, with a competitive multiplayer mode. The game rocks to the series’ memorable music and new ones, offers customisation options of the Prince and other cousins, and adds fun power-ups such as the magnet to pull in nearby items. This new version for Nintendo Switch 2 will bring exciting features for the game such as a new rolling sensation using the exclusive mouse controls of the console, smoother framerate, and improved graphics.
On top of the base game, Once Upon A KATAMARI Rolling LIVE Highlights Edition will include the Rolling LIVE Highlights DLC, which will bring 10 quests and their iconic soundtracks from the mobile game Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE, where everything is about live streaming.Some content may differ from Katamari Damacy Rolling LIVE (2025). Players will roll with Earth’s streamers and meet new cousins, growing their Katamari to help the King stay ahead of the trend and impress his fans to become even more popular.

The Royal Sound Edition replaces the Once Upon A KATAMARI King of Sound Edition, which will be discontinued on 7 October 2026. The DLC Rolling LIVE Highlights will also be available for purchase separately on all platforms Once Upon A KATAMARI is released on.
Players on Nintendo Switch will be able to transfer their save data onto Nintendo Switch 2, unless a save is already present on their Nintendo Switch 2. Owners of the Nintendo Switch version playing on Nintendo Switch 2 will receive a free update to improve performances and unlock the mouse control feature.
Once Upon A KATAMARI is coming on 8 October 2026 to Nintendo Switch 2 and is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch.
