OPPO Enco Clip2 Open Earbuds Review
Summary: The OPPO Enco Clip2 is well suited to users who prioritise comfort, situational awareness and a discreet design. They work particularly well for outdoor activities, office environments and anyone who prefers an open ear listening experience. They won’t replace in-earbuds for bass heavy listening or noise blocked travel but within the open ear category, they offer a refined and practical option.

Comfortable aware audio
Here is your updated review. The terminology updates, technical additions, and grammar fixes have been integrated and The OPPO Enco Clip2 Open Earbuds introduce a new direction for OPPO’s audio lineup, shifting from traditional in-ear buds to a “C bridge” open ear design that clips onto the outer ear. While it may seem like an unconventional approach for some, after extended use it becomes clear that OPPO has focused on practicality, comfort and everyday usability with a RRP of $299AUD (May 2026).

Unboxing & Design
Well-packed from OPPO, the open earbuds feel professionally built and more importantly, they are very lightweight with a super simple setup process. As soon as I opened the case, my Google Pixel 9 automatically detected the Clip2 and paired it with my phone. If you want to take this to the next level, you can download the accompanying OPPO app called HeyMelody.
From a design perspective, the Clip2 is built around a NiTi shape memory alloy, giving the bridge a flexible feel while maintaining its structure. Each bud weighs 5.2 grams, making them easy to wear for long periods without fatigue or any discomfort. The Grey finishes give them a subtle appearance that blends into everyday wear rather than standing out as tech. Another clever feature is the symmetrical design, allowing either bud to be worn in either ear and as a result, internal sensors automatically adjust the stereo channels, removing the need to check for left or right markings.
Audio Performance & Everyday Use
Sometimes open ear earbuds struggle with thin audio due to the lack of a sealed fit although OPPO’s dual driver system (11mm + 9mm) tuned by Dynaudio delivers a more balanced sound than expected. With support for high-fidelity LHDC 5.0 streaming, the mids and highs are clear and well defined, making them suitable for spoken content and acoustic music. While the bass doesn’t match the depth of in-ear models, it is fuller than many competing open ear designs. OPPO’s “dipole sound field” approach also helps limit sound leakage by directing audio toward the ear, keeping playback relatively private even at moderate volumes.
Battery life is another one of the Clip2’s strengths as a single charge provides 9.5 hours of playback, with the charging case extending total use to around 40 hours. In mixed daily use, the case can last several days before needing to be plugged in. Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 6.1, offering a stable link and a long range mode that can reach up to 400 metres in open environments. Call quality is supported by an AI assisted VPU (Voice Pickup Unit) that uses bone conduction sensing to separate the user’s voice from surrounding noise, resulting in clearer conversations in outdoor or busy settings.
There are some caveats with the Clip2 as it does not include active noise cancellation, which is intentional given the open ear design. They are meant for users who want environmental awareness rather than isolation. There is also a brief adjustment period when learning how to clip them on comfortably, particularly for those with smaller or larger ears, though this becomes easier with use.
