AMD unveils the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 for Developers and Creators

In a video announcement today, Jack Huynh, SVP & GM of AMD’s Computing and Graphics group unveiled the new AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition processor — the first desktop processor built with dual AMD 3D V-Cache technology — set to launch on April 22nd. The processor marks the next step in AMD’s continued innovation for next-generation applications and is a continuation of second-generation AMD 3D V-Cache technology. 

Key details include:

  • Available worldwide starting April 22nd
  • The world’s first desktop processor, where both chiplets feature AMD 3D V-Cache technology.
  • Powered by 16 “Zen 5” cores and 208MB of total cache — the most ever built into a Ryzen processor — designed to deliver lower latency and increased throughput.
  • Delivers 5–10% performance gains over the current Ryzen 9 9950X3D across creative workloads like DaVinci Resolve, Blender, and large-scale source code builds like Unreal Engine and Chromium.
