Today is Replacer Day: It’s time for Aussies to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 7

The wait is over. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is officially here, and today, Australia celebrates Replacer Day.

People across the country have found their Replacer (or sent a Dr Chipinski medical certificate in to work) so they can take the day off and play the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

New research revealed today showed the modern Aussie “sickie” isn’t about dodging work – it’s about reclaiming time. In fact, 73% of Aussies admit to skipping work or class when not unwell1.

The research revealed that almost a quarter (24%) of Aussies see taking a sickie as a basic right, with participants believing that “everyone deserves a day off now and then”.

Australians believe the average person takes 6 sickies a year, but personally admit to just 2. That gap tightens among Gen Z (expect 8, admit 4) and widens among Boomers (expect 6, admit 1). When asked about the most creative reason they’d taken a sick day, a member of the research study group shared “Our boss said, ‘This is the third time your grandfather has died.’

Today, Call of Duty is giving fans the perfect excuse to take the day – to focus on what really matters: playing Black Ops 7.

Following last week’s reveal of golf superstar Min Woo Lee as The Aussie Replacer, today marks the key moment for Aussies to swap out their daily grind for an action-packed day on the front line of Black Ops 7.

As The Aussie Replacer, Min Woo will be subbing in for everyday Australians and replacing them in their everyday jobs, chores and errands so they can spend as much time as possible playing the new game with their mates.

“They call me The Chef for a reason, and when I’m playing Call of Duty, I’m always cooking.” said Min Woo Lee, International Golf Champion and The Aussie Replacer.

Talking to his passion for the game at a press conference last Friday, Min Woo shared his love for playing the iconic Call of Duty franchise with friends in his down time. “It’s one way to wind down after golf, or when I’m back at home not playing golf.” shared Lee.

According to Min Woo Lee, the newly appointed Replacer, Aussies should “Call in sick and take the day off to play the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

Miles Leslie, Associate Creative Director at Treyarch, flew in from California last week to celebrate Min Woo Lee’s Aussie Replacer unveiling and meet fans of the game to celebrating the upcoming launch.

“We can’t wait for fans to jump into Black Ops 7. This is the biggest Black Ops ever and most ambitious game we’ve ever made, with a narrative that builds on the iconic Black Ops storyline. Across an innovative Co-Op Campaign, signature Multiplayer featuring next-level omnimovement and the biggest round-based- Zombies map ever, there’s something for everyone.” said Leslie.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is out now.
