Acclaim Celebrates Katanaut’s Deck-Verification With Steam Deck OLED Giveaway
Voidmaw’s gory cosmic horror roguelike Katanaut has been painting Steam red since it was released on September 10. Now, spacefaring ninjas can rejoice, as the game has been certified as Steam Deck verified by Valve, ensuring a seamless experience on both the base and OLED versions of the company’s popular gaming handheld.
To celebrate the occasion—and the upcoming Halloween holiday—the game’s publisher Acclaim has kicked off a “Hack-O’-Lantern” contest on their official X account, with the grand prize being a 512GB Steam Deck OLED. To enter, fans are encouraged (but not required) to sharpen their knives—or katanas—and show their love for the newly relaunched publisher by carving up an Acclaim-themed pumpkin.
The full details on the Hack-O’-Lantern contest can be found here. All entries must be submitted by midnight EST on October 31st.
If you’ve yet to add Katanaut to your Steam library, now is the perfect time. To celebrate the game’s participation in Difficult Games Bash 2025, Katanaut has received a 20% discount, slashing its price to $14.39 until November 7th, 2025.
Here’s what critics are saying:
