Death Relives Launches July 25 Unleashing Ancient Aztec Horror
Nyctophile Studios is proud to announce the official launch of its debut title, Death Relives, coming July 25, 2025, to Steam, PlayStation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series X|S. Blending ancient Aztec mythology with psychological horror, Death Relives is a deeply immersive first-person survival experience set in a world where nightmares, gods, and forgotten truths collide. To celebrate the launch, the game will be available at a 15% discount for the first 10 days following release.
Death Relives tells the story of Adrian, a young man desperately searching for his missing mother. His journey leads him into the haunting realm of Xipe Totec, the god of death, rebirth, and sacrifice in Aztec mythology. During the journey, players will explore iconic historical settings, such as Hernán Cortés’s ship, from the 16th century, while uncovering secrets buried beneath centuries of blood and ritual. The dark and eerie atmosphere of Death Relieves also hides other entities lurking in the shadows, which will be revealed in the rich storyline while Adrian, our protagonist, progresses through the game. Notably, Xipe Totec’s voice is performed entirely in Nahuatl, the ancestral language of the Aztec people, enhancing the game’s authenticity and cultural depth.
Designed as a first-person survival horror action game, Death Relives demands both caution and courage. As Xipe Totec hunts Adrian through nightmarish environments, players must rely on stealth tactics, puzzle-solving, and ritual combat mechanics that come at a heavy price, especially when attempting to fight back against a god. The game’s blend of atmospheric exploration, story-driven progression, and tense survival mechanics, where players must strategically use unique ancient artifacts to fight against relentless enemies, offers a thrilling, unforgettable experience.
To heighten immersion, Death Relives includes an optional mobile companion app, which can be downloaded to the players’ mobile phones and acts as Adrian’s phone. This app provides story insights, environmental hints, and dynamic interactions with Adrian’s father, an AI-powered character. When players face difficult puzzles, they can snap a photo and send it to the father, who will analyze the image and reply with helpful guidance for the current situation, creating a personal connection between the player, the protagonist, and the narrative.
Death Relives launches July 25, and players can wishlist the game now on Steam and PlayStation to be notified as soon as it’s available. The game supports multiple languages including English, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, French, Turkish, and Japanese. With four difficulty levels, players can tailor the challenge to their preference, and those looking to immerse themselves in the narrative can choose to disable jumpscares.
