May the Fourth be with you… from The Empire Strips Back

The internationally acclaimed stage show is breaking up the news cycle of 24hr coronavirus coverage by distracting you with a short four minute video with a bit of silliness, a bit of magic, and a whole lot of heart.

The Empire Strips Back has returned once again for their annual May 4th video. After touring internationally in Australia, USA, and Canada to over 100,000 people, they decided to go back to their roots for this special May 4th commemoration.

Due to COVID-19 and the lockdowns happening to everyone around the world, The Empire Strips Back wanted to create something special this year. Tapping into their childhood nostalgia and paying homage to Star Wars and Jim Henson, the video shows Yoda in muppet form playing the banjo and doing a cover of “Rainbow Connection” written by Paul Williams and sung by Kermit the Frog.

Unfortunately, the worldwide coronavirus pandemic has forced The Empire Strips Back to put a hold on its touring shows for the rest of 2020 but they have big plans once everything returns back to normal.

Stay safe and May The Fourth Be With You.
