10 million Bluey books sold and counting!

Today, Penguin Random House Australia (PRH AU) celebrates an incredible milestone of over 10 million Bluey books sold across 100 titles in the book range available in Australia and New Zealand.

First published in November 2019, Bluey books have found a special place in the Australian children’s publishing industry. The inaugural Bluey book, The Beach, kickstarted what would become a phenomenally successful Bluey book publishing program. It made history by becoming the first picture book to win the coveted ‘Book of the Year’ at the Australian Book Industry Awards in 2020.

Impressively, there has been a Bluey book in the number one position in Nielsen BookScan’s official Australian bestseller charts for a total of 48 weeks. Bluey titles have appeared in the top 10 on 342 occasions, with Time to Play! spending an impressive 28 weeks in the chart.

In just a few short years, the Bluey book program has expanded into a growing library of titles in multiple formats from board books, picture books and chapter books, to sticker activity, colouring, craft, magnet, sound books as well as two cookbooks.

There are no signs of slowing down, with PRH AU recently releasing the 100thBluey book titled Bluey: The Most Amazing Advent Calendar Book Collection which includes 24 mini books behind 24 festive doors, counting down to Christmas with story time magic and heaps of activities for little readers.

This celebratory collection is a culmination of everything Bluey has come to mean to Australian families and fans around the world.

From bedtime stories to holiday traditions, Bluey books continue to bring joy, heart and laughter to millions of readers.
