ICYMI, check out what’s happening at the Xbox booth this PAX!

With PAX AUS just a few days away, Xbox ANZ is excited to share more details on what fans attending the show can expect – from playable titles to incredible Xbox experiences on the show floor.

The Xbox booth is the place to be for Aussie gamers this weekend, with Bleeding Edge and Minecraft Dungeons both playable for the first time in Australia. These highly-anticipated titles lead a line-up of the latest and greatest games playable on the booth, including Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville™, NBA 2K20 and all of your favourite Xbox Game Pass games.

The critically-acclaimed Gears 5 will likewise be out in full force – playable on booth and featuring in its own fan-fuelled ESL tournament with a $5,000 prize pool. PAX AUS attendees are invited to sign up to compete at the show on the Xbox booth.

Xbox fans will also get a sneak peak at one of 2020’s most awaited releases in CD PROJEKT RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 – with exclusive posters, signings, t-shirt giveaways, and game footage set to showcase on Samsung’s brand new 98-inch QLED 8K TV.  This will be the first-time Samsung’s 98-inch screen will be on show, so jump in and see how immersive the world of Xbox can truly be.

The fun doesn’t stop with gameplay either. We’ll be hosting a Cyberpunk Cosplay Competition, with entrants encouraged to dress up in their favourite Cyberpunk costume and appear at the stand during PAX to go into the chance to win $5,000. Meanwhile, gamers can shoot some hoops with an IRL basketball challenge for those wanting to put their skills to the test.

If that’s still not enough, test your skills with the Lynx Claw machine, or if you’re following Xbox Australia on Twitter try your luck with the Twitter Treasure Hunt for your chance to win the major prize, a trip to X019 in London for you and a mate.

This year, attendees can also join us to hear from some of the industry’s top developers and Xbox executives at the convention centre’s many theatres to discuss key industry topics.

  • 10:30am Friday 11th October: Chris Charla (global head of ID@Xbox) will sit alongside key Australian developers to discuss the logistics behind game development in Game to Reality: Funding the Dream
  • 1:30pm Friday 11th October: Dave McCarthy (Corporate VP of Xbox Operations) will be live on stage with local industry experts to discuss Games and Moral Panic.
  • 2pm Saturday 12th October: Chris will be back with a panel of professional critics and developers, to see if you’ve got what it takes at Pitch Us Your Excellent/ Terrible Game Ideas!

Xbox ANZ is working hard to bring accessible gaming to everyone and is proud to share that our booth is fully wheelchair accessible, and with one station of each game featuring the Xbox Adaptive Controller. We will also have Auslan on booth to offer sign language services where required.

Last but not least, we have partnered with the CREATE Foundation – a national organisation focused on providing services to ensure that all children and young people with a care experience reach their full potential. There will be several gold coin donation opportunities on-booth, with participants walking away with exclusive merchandise.
