Capture your creativity with OPPO Reno2 Z

OPPO has today announced the launch of the Reno2 Z, the latest device in the smartphone maker’s popular Reno Series. The Reno Series is known for combining art and technology to complement their lifestyle and help unleash their creativity. The Reno2 Z is no different and comes packed with a range of new camera and video capabilities, all integrated into a sleek and stunning design.

With the Reno Series being known for its camera capabilities, the Reno2 Z brings a whole range of new features to the smartphone market, including Ultra Dark mode, Ultra Wide Angle, Bokeh Effect Video and Ultra Steady Video.

“At OPPO, we continuously look at new ways we can enhance our camera and video capabilities, to keep pace with the changing demands of the digital world and provide our customers with the features they demand. The Reno2 Z does just that. With its new capabilities, our customers will be able to unleash their creative potential and bring new perspectives to their personal galleries,” said Michael Tran, Managing Director at OPPO Australia.

“Today, our smartphone is not only our phone but it’s our camera, our video recorder, our gaming device, on-the-go TV and an extension of our style. To meet the multiple requirements of today’s smartphone, the Reno2 Z also includes a number of innovations to give our users the best experience possible, in a unique design and at an amazing price. The Reno2 Z has really made premium accessible.”

Camera capabilities let you get creative

The Reno2 Z is OPPO’s first quad-camera setup, featuring a 48MP Ultra-clear main camera, 8MP Wide Angle Lens, 2MP Mono Lens and 2MP Portrait Lens. The main camera is powered by an extra large ½” SONY IMX586 sensor, helping make your pictures clear and defined. Whilst OPPO’s 5x Hybrid Zoom, let’s you capture amazing long-distance detailed shots.

Furthermore, the quad-camera setup has enabled OPPO to launch its new night mode – Ultra Dark Mode. Ultra Dark Mode lets users clearly capture clear night scenes, even in cases where the ambient brightness is less than 1 lux. It only takes 2-2.5 seconds to capture an entire dark scene, making it one of the fastest night shooters on the market. OPPO has achieved this through its application of NPU to speed up the AI algorithm of night mode shooting (NPU Accelerator refers to the optimisation of the operation of Neural Network Processing).

The Reno2 Z also enhances OPPO’s Ultra Wide Angle capabilities, with its 119° wide angle lens, giving you a much larger field of view.

For those who love taking portrait shots, the upgrades to the inclusion of a Mono lens and upgrades to the Portrait lens have given users up to 7 different portrait modes and an adjustable Bokeh HDR mode.

The Bokeh effect also works on the 16MP pop-up selfie camera, further enhancing selfies and really making the subject pop. And, for the first time, the bokeh effect is also available when shooting video content from the front-facing camera.

OPPO ups its video game

The Reno2 Z really ups OPPO’s game when it comes to video, with the introduction of Ultra Steady Video Mode. This leverages Hybrid Image Stabilisation technology (a combination of electronic and optical image stabilisation) to ensure accuracy and improve anti-shake.

It also includes a gyro sensor much like those used in action cameras. Together, with a frame rate of up to 60 fps and the ability to capture Ultra Wide Angle shots, video captured on the Reno2 Z is close to the quality level of purpose-built action cameras.

Further enhancing the video experience is the inclusion of OPPO’s unique one-tap video editing and sharing editor, called SOLOOP, letting customers efficiently and professionally edit the visual content they create. It will automatically add music to match with the timing and transitions of your footage so you can create a masterpiece in a minute. It also intelligently identifies the content within the albums for characters and scenes and offers up edit solutions.

Powerful, long-lasting, full-screen smartphone

To view all your captured content, OPPO has once again placed a lot of emphasis into the screen design. The OPPO Reno2 Z features a 6.5 inch E1 AMOLED screen and a screen to body ratio of 91.1%. There’s no notch thanks to the pop-up camera and the screen is durable, thanks to 5th Generation Corning ® Gorilla® Glass.

Additionally, the screen includes Hidden Fingerprint Unlock 3.0, giving users a brighter unlock area and faster unlocking speeds.

Powering the device is a large 4,000mAh battery, MTK P90 processor and up to 8GB of RAM, supported by 256 GB of storage. The OPPO Reno2 Z will run the latest version of ColorOS – ColorOS 6.1 – based on Android Pie 9.0.
