Published on September 18, 2013 in Gaming

Gametraders Dramatically Changes Gaming Experience

“All new Gametraders stores will be trading under the Gametraders Live model,” said Mr Mark Langford Founder and Managing Director of Gametraders.

“Gametraders have been a video game retail franchise in operation since 2000 and have been evolving their franchise model over the past 5 years, but this is the first of the dramatic new stores under the Gametraders Live banner.

“For Gametraders’ customers this means not only video games and a broad range of pop culture and Cosplay outfits and accessories but is also offering in-store trading card, Warhammer and gaming tournaments plus Anime and Cosplay events.

“Cosplayers and like minded people such as Doctor Who and Star Wars fraternities, who have had a long association with Gametraders over the years, are particularly delighted that they now have a place to call home and a place to interact and show off their spectacular costumes and outfits,” Langford concluded.

The first store to open under the Gametraders Live banner is set to open in Penrith NSW on Saturday 21st September 2013.

The Gametraders Live stores will be up to 300 m2 in size and will feature sofas to relax and interact, coffee, drinks and snacks, this together with their retail offering plus a range of exciting activities will make Gametraders Live an entertainment destination unlike anything in Australia.
One of the existing stores in Mildura is also doubling in size to incorporate the activities associated with the GT Live model.

Sydney, Australia – September 18, 2013 – Deep Silver today released the ‘Developer Pack’ – the third piece of add-on content for Metro: Last Light and a kit that offers several opportunities to re-design the gameplay of the critically acclaimed first person shooter. It is now available worldwide on Steam and the Xbox Live online entertainment network from Microsoft, and the PlayStation®Network in North America. It will be available on the PlayStation®Network in Europe and the rest of the world tomorrow, September 19th.

·        Lastly, players can explore Metro’s cast of characters, and human and mutant foes, up close in the ‘Metro Museum’

The Developer Pack also includes an original solo mission – The Spider’s Nest – that will truly test the nerves of arachnophobes. Use your wits, your lighter, your torch… and the brand new Flamethrower to escape from a spider infested catacomb…

The Developer Pack costs  just $3.99 (AU$4.27) and is the third of four add-on content packs to be included in the Metro: Last Light Season Pass, which at $14.99 (AU$16.03) offers a discount over buying the packs separately, and also includes an additional exclusive weapon, the Abzats.

The final add-on content release for Metro: Last Light – the ‘Chronicles Pack’ – will arrive later this month and features three original single player missions that cast the player as four of the game’s standout characters – Pavel, Khan & Ulman, and Anna – and explore their side-stories away from Artyom’s adventure

SILENT HUNTER ONLINE: OPEN BETA LAUNCH WITH STUNNING 3D VISUALS

SYDNEY, September 17th 2013 – Ubisoft and Blue Byte have announced the Open Beta launch for Silent Hunter Online. With the start of the Open Beta players around the world can slip into the role of submarine commanders during WWII and fully immerse themselves into the Battle of the Atlantic.

Silent Hunter Online is a browser based Free-to-Play submarine simulation game developed by Ubisoft Blue Byte in co-operation with Sproing. Players take position on board their submarines, hunt down enemy convoys, manage their personal flotillas and partake in server-wide dynamic campaigns. With a strong focus on multiplayer experience, every mission in the game can be played cooperatively.

Silent Hunter Online is based on a powerful graphics engine. Ocean waves and the vastness of the sea are being displayed in stunning 3D – without the need to install a game client. All in-game ship models are rendered in full detail and thus provide an unforeseen level of visual realism. Dynamic weather effects, authentically simulated waves and changing daytimes ensure game-play variety during missions and create an immersive atmosphere. Impressive environmental effects like dense walls of fog, strong swell, stormy rain showers or idyllic sunsets on the open sea further enhance the game-play experience. Thanks to an advanced particle system, battles at sea feature spectacular explosions, fire and smoke effects.

Game Features:

For the first time in the Silent Hunter series, players will be able to play every mission in real-time and in co-op, by teaming up online to form a Wolfpack and operating as a single unit towards joint goals and server-wide missions.

  • Authentic boat types: The Silent Hunter series has always been a benchmark for historical authenticity in gaming. True to this tradition, Silent Hunter Online includes a great number of historical boat types the player can either command – or destroy.
  • Dynamic Campaign: All players participate in a global, server-wide campaign and work together to turn the tides of war in their favour.
  • Multiplayer experience: Submarines are hunter and prey at the same time. To stand a better chance against enemy fleets, players can team up online and form wolfpacks.
  • Stunning battles: Silent Hunter Online takes full advantage of the latest Flash 11 technology to display real-time 3D combat in your browser.

We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks – 7 November, 2013

Universal Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is releasing We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks, available to own on DVD and Blu-ray™ from November 7, 2013.

Filmed with the startling immediacy of unfolding history, Academy Award® winning director Alex Gibney, We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks details the creation of Julian Assange’s controversial website, which facilitated the largest security breach in U.S. History.

Regarded as a leading documentary filmmaker, Gibney’s previous work includes breakout documentaries Enron: The Smartest Guy in the Room and Taxi to the Dark SideWe Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks is Gibney’s latest exploration and gives viewers a gripping narrative of Julian Assange’s beginning with his first attempts at hacking in the 1980s through to present day.

Today, Assange is hailed by some as a free-speech hero and by others as a traitor and terrorist. In this documentary, Assange’s rise and fall are paralleled with that of Bradley Manning, the brilliant yet troubled young U.S. solider who downloaded hundreds of thousands of documents from classified U.S. Military and diplomatic servers, revealing the behind-the-scenes workings of the government’s international diplomacy and military strategy.

In seeking to expose abuse in the corridors of power, Assange and Manning were undermined by forces within and without, as well as by their own human failings. We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks is a riveting, absorbing, multi-layered tale about transparency in the information age and the ever-elusive search for the truth.
