Total Overdose

A mish mash of style make for some really weird gaming on Total Overdose. There are so many styles of gaming for the punter to get through that at times it can almost be confusing. Possibly the first thing to get out of the way is that you have to love gun games and lots of claret, that’s blood to those of you who are not into gangster movies.

The first thing that you notice is the fact that the action is so over the top that it is not funny. The title blatantly rips off games such as Max Payne with it’s bullet time and shoot dodging with moves that are going to make the dudes in the Matrix feel pretty damn jealous.

I think that some people are going to trip out on how much this game goes over the edge but it’s also the thing that keeps you playing all the way through. This is not the best game that I’ve played in some time but for some reason it’s enough to keep me going through to the very end. I guess it’s like a car crash, I don’t want to look but I sorta do at the same time.

Storyline? Well it revolves very loosely around some twins; one a badass and the other a DEA agent. Ramiro Cruz is our bad seed who has to take his twin’s place and take down the evil men who run the drug rings. To be honest the story is so secondary to the gameplay that it is simply not worth dwelling on too much! J

There are stacks of weapons in this game that are just begging to be used. For the most part I preferred auto gunfire but there will be those amongst you who prefer the slower type weaponry. It really doesn’t matter, you are gonna be covered in this game. It’s a one stop shooting shop.

I liked the way this game looked on screen as well. There are some very brightly coloured environments to make your way through and the overall feeling to the game is one of zany wacky insanity.

This is not a game  that is going to redefine how you look at all titles but it is going to really be an experience that you should have if you are after a no brainer game to play your way through on a weekend when it’s raining too much to get out. I’ll say that you could buy this if you are not after something to challenge the grey matter and just want to have a fun time shooting things!

It’s pretty neat.
