The installation of Symantec Client Security simply auto installs once the CD is detected by the computer and then it's up to the system administrator to select the various settings for your business network. Once installed, the system administrator is greeted to an extremely user-friendly interface that is not only ideal to the basic system administrator but also those with more IT experience as there are a variety of advanced options available.

System administrators also have the ability to centralize the installation (ideal for large networks) and also generate reports which is a great option for checking the integrity of the system. I must admit that the reports generate by Symantec Client Security 3.1 are quite in-depth, ensuring that administrators know exactly where the threat may have come on.

We tested the network with a variety of known viruses that were contained in zip files and e-mail attachments that Client Security automatically detected and removed the offending file.

Although not tested as Client Security was too secure, the program automatically prevented any viruses from changing the system, however if something does occur, Client Security has the ability to repair any changes made by viruses and spyware. We scanned our entire network in around 20 minutes which is considerably quite fast when compared to the competitors products.

Although aimed at Windows XP/2000 operating systems, Client Security 3.1 also offers Linux client support for those users that wish to access their PC systems through this popular free-ware operating system.

As with all Symantec products, Client Security 3.1 also offers a subscription to LiveUpdate that allows your business to automatically download the latest virus definitions and updates, ensuring that your system is protected from the latest threats.
