Clifford the Big Red Dog Thinking Adventures

Children direct this skill-building journey through Clifford's neighborhood looking for ways to make his birthday party BIG fun! Throughout the adventure, entertaining activities encourage each child to use their thinking and reasoning skills as well as their imagination. In addition, kids are presented with challenges that require them to use their problem solving skills to complete various steps. The celebration begins once children have everything they need to throw a party BIG enough for Clifford!

That loveable dog returns once again in Clifford the Big Red Dog Thinking Adventures that teams our favourite canine with Emily Elizabeth who, with the assistant of the younger gamer must solve a variety of puzzles and challenges such as a decorating a cake or building a birthday dog collar.

The game itself is situated in a small town that has the player exploring various places such as the crotchety home of the Bleakmans to the town's soccer field. There are over 18 different activities in this game that assist in children in the following skills:

  • Problem Solving

  • Logica and reasoning

  • Classifiying & Sorting

  • Matching

  • Memory

  • Colours and Shapes

  • Counting

  • Creativity

  • Spatial Reasoning

  • Fine Motor Skills &

  • Following directions

The installation Clifford the Big Red Dog Thinking Adventures simply auto-installed once the computer detected the CD and in under a few minutes, the software was ready to be tested. With that said, the interface of Clifford is extremely easy to navigate and features some wonderful graphics, music and sound effect.

Probably the two favourite games in this edition of Clifford is the activity that helps with spatial reasoning and when Clifford causes a traffic jam, children must assist Clifford in navigating the cars out of this mess. Other activities such as shape recognition assist Clifford with his diet by teaching children different shapes through shape recognition.

Another interesting aspect of this series is that there are various levels of difficulty, depending on your child's age and they also have the option of saving the game in order to come back later and play.

As previously mentioned, the graphics of this title are extremely colourful and rather basic that is similar to the cartoon series. Match that with some great voice acting, music and sound effects and this title has all the learning attributes needed to assist children with their education.

In conclusion, Clifford the Big Red Dog Thinking Adventures was judged another winner by our four-year old volunteer and at an extremely affordable price. Great work from Scholastic!
