The Heartbreak Kid (2007)

You know you're in for a treat when the DVD you are about to watch has the words From the Guys who brought you "There's something about Mary" stamped on the DVD cover and the Heartbreak Kid is no exception to the rule. Another politically incorrect classic from the Farrelly brothers, The Heartbreak Kid stars Ben Stiller as Eddie, a 40-year old man who is still hung up about his ex girlfriend of five years.

As his week goes from bad to worse, Eddie has the chance meeting with the beautiful Lila (Malin Akerman) who eventually fall for each other. Pressured by his father (Jerry Stiller) and his best friend to marry Lila, his perfect life soon starts to crumble as he discovers that Lila is not who she seems.

Their honey moon is a disaster and due to certain events, Eddie starts spending less and less time with his sex crazed wife and meets Miranda (Michelle Monaghan) who he believes is his true soul mate in life.

This comedy will have you cringing, embarrassed and crying from laughter as the Farrelly brothers use their wit and extraordinary comedic abilities to create another classic comedy. Ben Stiller does a remarkable job as Eddie as does Malin Akerman who definitely steals the show in certain scenes, match that with Ben Stiller's real-life father Jerry Stiller and you have one entertaining comedy.

Probably the most memorable scenes in the movie are the over the top sex scenes with Akerman and Stiller which had us all in stitches and the ending with the "kitty ring". These scenes have the Farrelly brothers stamp on them and without them, they wouldn't be a Farrelly movie. Classic Champaign comedy!

The video and audio quality of the Heartbreak Kid are exceptional with the film presented in an aspect ration of 16:9 widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 for that true cinematic experience.

The special features for the Heartbreak Kid are great and if you enjoyed the movie, you'll most likely watch the extras with some great behind the scenes and an exceptionally funny Gag Reel. The commentary by the Farrelly Brothers features those two comedic brothers in assisting the viewer what on earth goes on in their minds. Highly Recommended
