It’s been 10
years since we last saw our intrepid clerks, Dante and Randall from the
first movie by Kevin Smith and here they are again with new jobs, some
have new lives and others… well let’s just say they are here!
		Featuring the
dialogue that Smith brought to everyone’s attention in the first movie,
this story revolves around Dante finding himself with a fiancé and about
to move away from the neighbourhood which has Randall pissed. Currently
working at the local Mooby restaurant with the delightfully sassy
Rosario Dawson as Becky with whom Dante has a little something that if I
was to tell you, you would not be slightly happy with me.
		There are many
highlights to the feature that fans of the Jersey series will note, in
jokes and movie references that will make you laugh out loud. Newcomers
will find themselves captured with Smiths snappy dialogue and the way
that the story pans out. Oddly enough though, as a fan of the series I
do find myself treating this movie on it’s own rather than a true
continuation of the story of these numbskulls.
		Back in the
saddle are Jay and Silent Bob as well, our drug dealers from almost
every one of Smiths flicks. Silent Bob is played by Smith himself and
Jay played by Smith’s childhood friend Jason Mewes who is perfect as the
hyperactive potty mouthed Jay. If you are familiar with the movies then
it might come as a surprise to find that the two have found the Lord,
but in a way that doesn’t prevent them from drug dealing.
		The film is
wonderfully shot and as with all of these in this series you can tell
that they are Smith’s pride and joy. The audio is fantastic and the
script polished to a high degree. Taboo subject material is the focus
here with unintentional racism, bestiality and other topics par for the
		course.
		The title from
start to finish is truly a laugh fest and you would be well rewarded in
		getting this disc.
		The DVD is jam
packed with extras of every imaginable kind with highlights being audio
commentaries and a making of that will have you in stitches. These guys
go all out and they even have a video podcast that you can download for
free. Do yourself a favour and get Clerks II, it is a riot.
