A year before the end of the war on the island of Saipan in the Pacific, the last remaining Japanese soldiers were prepared to fight the Americans to the very end. One soldier, Captain Oba, instilled in his men honour, bravery and above all else, hope. He was nicknamed The Fox by the US troops as he continued to undermine and outsmart them at every turn, but at a cost. With only 47 surviving men, unaware Japan had conceded defeat, they still fought on.this is the remarkable story of the unsung heroes who never gave up fighting for their country. The island will always be remembered as Suicide Island by the Japanese.
