McAfee QuickClean

This program is fantastic for those of us who are not savvy enough to clean the hard disk using regedit, which I certainly do not recommend unless you are really confident. What the software does, extremely effectively, is clean up your pc of all the junk that you accumulate through simply using your pc and getting onto the internet. What happens when you install and uninstall programs is leave all sorts of remnants of files in your registry and various other places in the computer that you forget about, but that takes up massive amounts of room on the hard disk that you will not get back until you either find them and delete them or reformat your hard disk getting rid of everything.

QuickClean is simple to install, intuitive and a delight to use. The program layout is effective and no guesswork is involved. There are a series of tabs to select involving cleaning up your internet files, cookies and other identifiers. It's not a well known fact but the more cookies and passwords you carry, the more trouble you can get into if someone manages to get into your system. QuickClean also makes sure that your deleted files stay gone with a digital shredder type process which makes it a case of once gone, all gone. In the past, ghosts of files would remain that could be pieced back together if they got into the wrong hands of if you sold your old PC and someone got hold of the hard disk. These files will stay there beyond a simple format as well. QuickClean helps eliminate that problem once and for all.

With the Application Remnant Cleaner being so easy to use, you should find your pc running faster as well without the system scanning stuff in the registry that simply is no longer there. It looks just like the Add/Remove Programs panel in Control Panel but makes a great deal more sense.

Benefits

• Exclusive!—Built-in McAfee Uninstaller Technology

Freeing you from time-consuming manual file removal, McAfee QuickClean quickly scans, identifies and removes unneeded files, programs and folders for better system performance and increased disk space.

• Improved!—McAfee Shredder

Even when you delete files from your hard drive, digital footprints may remain, allowing hackers and other identity thieves to recover data. McAfee QuickClean's secure data erasure permanently wipes away sensitive documents and email—even free disk space, file slack & entire drives.

• Advanced Privacy Control

Helps delete confidential information, including your Web browsing trail, so others can't track your surfing habits.

• Application Remnant Cleaner (ARC)

Even after you remove programs from your computer, remnants can remain, often in hard-to-reach places. ARC removes all associated files and folders, wherever they're hiding.

• Most Recently Used (MRU) File Cleaning

Protects privacy by removing telltale lists of files recently accessed in popular Windows applications

• Customizable File Cleanup

Lets you target specific files for cleanup by age, folder or size criteria.

• Email Cleanup

Supports Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, and other MAPI-compliant email programs.

• Easy-to-Use Controls

Convenient program wizards help create custom cleaning rules and automate everyday cleanup tasks, e.g., erasing cached files every time you close your browser.

• Free live instant message and email technical support

Getting up and running with QuickClean is a snap as well, with just putting in the CD and away you go. It's simple and is a great way for novices to take proper care of the security of their computer systems. I do have to commend McAfee for how easy they've made this process and how amazingly simple they've made an activity that used to be the domain only of computer nerds. There is simply nothing to fault with this software and for those who care about keeping their PC in optimum fighting condition, this is one package that you cannot do without.

Good Stuff.
