Tell us a bit
about yourself... I live in inner Melbourne, work fulltime
and I'm nearly finished with my Masters. I love to travel, cook,
read fantasy/sci-fi and 19th century literature, and watch
documentaries.
What made you get into modeling? I thought it would be a
fun way to make a bit of extra cash while I was studying. I got
a friend to take some (with hindsight) very bad pictures of me
when I was 17, and slowly built up my portfolio from there.
What do you enjoy about modeling? The ability to create
lots of different looks and themes, and the eternal search for
that perfect headshot. Also let's be honest here - I wouldn't be
a model if I didn't have at least a teensy bit of vanity to
feed.
What are three technological things you cannot live without?
1) The internet. 2) Science blogs on the internet. 3) The
internet.
What is your favourite video game? I haven't played any
since I was a kid, but used to be a huge fan of Commander Keen
and the early Duke Nukems. That'll date me won't it!
Married or Single? False dichotomy! I'm cohabiting in a
long-term relationship. Marriage is irrelevant in the 21st
century.
What do you look for in a guy? Intelligence, intellectual
curiosity, and a willingness to a) communicate and b) pay
attention to personal appearance.
What is your favorite movie? Clueless, mostly for
sentimental reasons. Fight Club is also up there.
Favourite Music? US jazz-fusion band Steely Dan.
Favourite Food? Japanese, especially sashimi.
Favourite Colour? Purple.
Favourite TV Show? The Wire. Best thing I have
*ever* seen on TV.
Favourite Animal? Frog.
Your motto for life? Carpe crustulum ("seize the
pastry").
Do you have a fan site like twitter, myspace or facebook?
No, just my portfolio site
www.sophonline.com.
What does the future hold for you? Possibly a PhD and a
career in research if I'm lucky or administration if I'm not. A
few years more of modelling. Definitely a whole lot more travel,
with a year or three based in London.
Ten words or fewer for your fans? "Properly read, the
bible is the most potent force for Atheism ever conceived". –
Isaac Asimov
