Logitech V450 Nano
Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks

Logitech add another innovative mouse design to the peripheral market with the V450, their latest wireless mouse that not only boasts a 12-month only battery change but also laser accuracy that is extremely comfortable and easy to use. Targeting the mobile market, this mouse will definitely revolutionise quality mousing products and for a recommended retail of $89.95, there is little to complain about this item.

Precision Experience performance

  • Precision Laser Engine: Experience smoother cursor control on virtually any surfaces.
  • Tilt Wheel Plus Zoom™: Effortlessly scroll side-to-side. Instantly zoom in and out. Perfect for viewing digital photos and spreadsheets.
  • Robust Cordless Performance: Experience a powerful and reliable signal with 2.4 GHz Digital Cordless―virtually no delays or drop outs.

Comfort - Work happier

  • Superior Comfort: Be at ease with soft textured grip in a contoured shape
  • Ambidextrous: Use it with your left or right hand.
  • Cordless: Keep wires out of your way.
  • Light, Durable Design: Carry it anywhere and use it with natural ease.

Convenience - Simplify life

  • Wireless Micro-Receiver: Store the plug-and-play receiver right into the mouse for transport. Turns the mouse off to save batteries.
  • Extended battery Life: Use it up to a year without worrying about batteries.
  • Power Management: Go longer with a low-battery light and auto-off.

The design of the mouse is quite streamlined and neatly fits in your hand with all the buttons at easy access. The unit also has a rubber-like material on the sides of the mouse for added grip while using the mouse.

Before connecting the Logitech V450 to our AMD test machine, we first needed to install the 2 batteries that came with the mouse into the unit and then connect the receiver into a spare USB port. It should also be noted that the battery compartment was quite accessible and once the USB receiver was removed, the hatch could then be opened for easy installation.

Although the device does come with software, Windows Vista flawless installed the software without any prompting from the user at all. Another interesting feature is that the USB wireless receiver is quite small and is perfect for laptop users or even desktop users who wish to minimise clutter and weight while transporting.

With battery replacement only required every 12-months (depending on usage), this mouse is the perfect accessory for your laptop or desktop machine. Unfortunately we cannot wait 12-months to test this fact but considering the track record of Logitech, this claim is more than likely highly accurate. When the mouse is not being used, it automatically powers down to maximise battery life and by moving the mouse again, the unit returns to usability after a brief pause.

We tested the mouse with a variety of software packages that included Microsoft Windows Vista, Adobe PhotoShop, Microsoft Office and even World of Warcraft that extremely accurate and smooth, with no lag whatsoever. Design programs performed remarkably well and were extremely accurate. The unit is also 2.4Ghz compliant which means interference will be non-existent or minimal at best.

In conclusion, the Logitech V450 is a great ergonomically designed mouse that is easy to install and best of all is quite compact and sturdy. Definitely one for the user on the go or for those that want the best at an affordable price.
