Lexar are a company that is known for their
high quality memory cards for a plethora of different devices from
digital cameras, mobile phones and even high-end gaming consoles such as
the PlayStation 3.
With the world wide phenomena of gaming, Lexar have
come to the rescue of Nintendo WII, PlayStation 3 and PSP gamers with
the launch of two new gaming cards, the Lexar Gaming Edition 2GB SD Card
and the Lexar Memory Stick PRO Duo which have been exclusively designed
for all three consoles.
Lexar Gaming Edition SD Card
The Lexar Gaming Edition SD Card comes in
three different sizes that include 512MB, 1GB and 2GB, depending on your
preference and usage. This review will however, focus on the 2GB
edition. It should be noted that this card can be used on both the
PlayStation 3 and Nintendo WII gaming consoles to easily transfer a
variety of file formats from save games, music, movie and other
multimedia content. On the PlayStation 3, we transferred a DIVX movie
onto the card which boasted exceptional speeds and once this was
"played" on the console, the playback was flawless. We tested
music and save games as well which all performed remarkably well.

Memory Stick PRO Duo
The PlayStation Portable is the perfect
console as its portable allows for a variety of features from gaming,
music, movies and internet to name some of its functionality. However in
order to play movies and music, a memory card is needed. We tested this
card on the PlayStation Portable by copying a variety of movies and
music onto the card which was quite fast and like the SD Card, there
were no playback of performance issues whatsoever. Definitely a card for
the professional gamer!
