Warren Miller's Children of Winter

As Tony Hawke and Jackass idiot Bam Magera made skating one of the world’s most popular extreme sports, Jonny Moseley (skiing) and Seth Wescott (snowboarder) have also done the same for snow sports. Thanks to director and photographer Warren Miller, he has put together a true cinematic treat as viewers are taken on the ride of their life as they follow a variety of winter athletes such asJonny Moseley, Daron Rahlves, Marco Sullivan, Seth Wescott, Gerry Lopez and Wendy Fisher as they showcase their mastery of the snow slopes.

Filmed in a variety of locales from around that include Japan, Alaska and Iceland (before that pesky Volcano went off), the cinematography is truly jaw dropping as these men and women manipulate the snow like no other and really makes you appreciate their control and fitness levels. Not being a skier or snowboarder, it's a little hard to explain but just imagine almost vertical drops with a gorgeous winter wonderland as a backdrop but best of all, these are real men and women, not proving a danger but rather showing the rest of us why they are the top of their sports. Awe-inspiring probably sums it up the best!

To compliment the extraordinary footage, Miller has gathered a variety of  popular bands that include Radiohead, Spearhead and Beck that only assist in getting your own adrenaline pumping. It's almost like watching an MTV music video clip but thankfully it's all real... 100% and no damn special effects in sight.

On DVD, the video quality looks stunning with sharp images, vibrant colours and amazing snow covered peaks where these individuals display their prowess. The music also sounds great and I really turned this up loud to thoroughly immerse myself in this extreme sport experience. Even if you're not a fan of any winter sports, you still need to experience this... if only to believe!

Recommended to all!
