Things You Don't Tell

Director, Alex Melli, shows potential as he draws together 3 vignettes into one story.

The film is set up as 3 short stories: Sami is dating a married man. While Doris is on the run with her children. And finally Ted, an aggressive artist uses his vengeful comics book character, “the hawk” to live his violet fantasies through. These stories are brought together in the climax.

This film only has one clearly defined character, Ted, who has strong motivation while the other characters appear flat and purposeless. When the loose ends are tied, very little is added to the other character.

This is an average thriller that could have been very satisfying, with a little more characterization. If you can manage to sit through the first 2 bland vignettes, this can be an ok way to spend am hour and a half..
